David and I have both been working so hard over the last two week, and trying to catch up at work from all our summer travels. David and I took the kids on a family trip a few years ago, we will post and share these pictures next, but lets share a license plate from Grand Cayman!
If you have followed us for even just a few posts, you have noticed we like to keep our posts nice and short and to the point. On our recent trip to Alaska we enjoyed these three things the most: 1- The peaceful, spiritual feelings when out in nature. Whether we were staring at aContinue reading “3 Best things on our Ruby Princess Alaska Cruise Trip”
This is our last stop on our cruise, so we are going to make the most of it!
Were back on the Ruby Princess Cruise ship and having a date night. We are celebrating our Anniversary on Board, before headed over to Vancouver, British Columba. We buy the upgraded King Crab dinner for $29.00 each. Having crabs for dinner We did think the upgrade pricing was worth it, and enjoyed the nite celebrating!
We bought an Ulu knife in Alaska. An ulu is an all-purpose knife traditionally used by Inuit, Yupik, and Aleut women. It is utilized in applications as diverse as skinning and cleaning animals, cutting a child’s hair, cutting food, as a weapon and, if necessary, trimming blocks of snow and ice used to build an igloo.
Alaskan unique store products we found while on our Alaksan Cruise in local stores.
In Alaska, it is more like – there is an eagle, there is eagle, there is another. This location, took in injured birds and gave them a home if they could not be returned. I consider that one of the highest honorable things a person can do, care for those who cannot.
We learn about totem pole carving at Ketchikan Alaska Rainforest Sanctuary.
Check out this huge giant bowl filled with steamy delicious crab. I have honestly never seen this many crab, or eaten this much ever before. I felt like our waitress, dressed in this cute little fisherman wharf outfit was tossing them out . George Inlet Lodge
This is my second post on License Plates, I have a few I have been collecting during my travels, but feel free to post your collection too, lets start a new trend!!!
After rounding the corner from the 1400year old tree right about 10 feet away from where we were just standing was a big old Black Bear! I was hoping to see a bear while we were there, and we did. We have heard, bears do not like surprises so make noises when walking in theContinue reading “We Saw a Bear in Alaska!”
This is a 1400year old tree, maybe not old to you, but we were impressed.
Like posting beautiful Doors photographed on Travles, we will post Travel License Plates!
A view of Glacier Bay with Videos from our Princess Cruise Ship Deck.
We enter Glacier Bay on the Ruby Princess Cruise ship, it is quiet on the deck, everyone feels the peace and most are stunned and cannot speak. A tranquil, spiritual feeling location even when on a cruise deck.
I am trying out using a poll, we are back from Alaska, but still posting our pictures, but where do you think we should go next? Taking ideas. I do not have Peru in the mix, but it is for sure on our short list as well.
Just a few pictures of the town of Skagway. After our Helicopter tour was cancelled, we walked to town and did some shopping while waiting to go on our Gold Panning Tour. Glacier and Falls in Juneau Alaska, a quick hike to all the Heaven.
On our tour in Juneau the bus driver told us about the one and only road that leads to no where in Juneau. Were off from Seattle to Alaska on the Ruby Princess Cruise ship. This cruise is for David, I am not a cold weather type of person, but on a cruise ship, at least I sleep in comfort every night, so it is a great compromise, luxury and ruggedness. We heard from all our friends thatContinue reading “Off to an Alaskan Ruby Princess Cruise!”
I first heard of Chihuly, when visiting Kalamazoo, MI and they had a show of his art at the local Glass art shop. One of the reasons I starting working in Radiology was the cool way you could look thru the film – it was translucent and how every image was different. I have nowContinue reading “Chihuly Glass Art Garden, Seattle Washington”

The kids wanted a quick Wendy’s Hamburger while in Tokyo, Japan. David and I figured we could eat a Wendy’s Hamburger right around the corner from our house just like the ones here. Nope, there is a difference… Check out this Tokyo Wendy’s.
We noticed the Kimonos, but put it together pretty quickly, that these are only worn at special locations. If we were at Disney or a Temple or an event we saw Kimonos. Here are a few pictures we saw. The kimono is a traditional Japanese garment. The word kimono literally means ki (着 “wearing”, specifically on the upper body) + mono (物 “thing”).
In Japan, my husbands beard is a show stopper, I love how he grows it out, shaves it, changes it up. I feel like I have a different man at every change, lol!
